Escallonia
EscalloniaEscallonia is an evergreen shrub native to South America. It is a neat, dense, fast-growing, glossy leaved shrub with clusters of long-blossoming white, pink, or red flowers. Escallonia is excellent as an informal hedge and is better clipped rather than sheared. It takes full sun to part shade, good drainage, and moderate water. Give Escallonia space to spread. The Escallonia available at Markham has dark rosy pink flowers and shiny dark green leaves. This is an attractive, easy care shrub.

Physocarpus opulifolius 'Nugget' (Ninebark)
NinebarkNinebark is a deciduous shrub native to Eastern and Central U.S. It grows to 9 feet tall and wide. Leaves, in Spring, are golden yellow and mature to lime green, then are gold again in Fall. Clusters of white flowers with pink stamens bloom in Spring. It is attractive in winter due to peeling bark. It is beautiful when planted next to red or burgundy leaved shrubs such as Barberry. It is also best in partial shade and tolerates clay soil. Requires moderate water. Our supply is limited as this has been a popular plant.

Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips'
Salvia 'Hot Lips"  Salvia 'Hot Lips'
'Hot Lips' is a fast growing Salvia to 2 1/2 tall by 3 feet wide. It is adorned with stunning bicolor flowers -- red tip and white lip. When the nights warm in the Summer, the new flowers are all red with an occasional solid white one. As Fall approaches, the flowers will again be bicolor red and white. This is a "must have" Salvia.

Aquilegia (Columbine)
Lacy foliage and beautifully poised flowers give Columbines a fairy-like, woodland-glen quality. Plants range from 2 inches to 4 feet high. Fermy leaves are usually blue green. Slender branching stems rise above the foliage carrying erect or nodding flowers to 3 inches across. Columbine blooms in Spring. Plants are not fussy about soil and need regular water and light shade in our climate. Columbine reseeds freely. Deadhead for a second crop of flowers that will attract butterflies.
Columbine Sale
All Columbines are on sale for $2/gallon. Plants are large and in full bloom.

Daylilys Blooming
   Daylily
This is a good time to shop for our named variety Daylilies as they are just beginning to bloom and you will be able to choose by flower color and shape. We also have a binder with most of the Daylilys shown in pictures.
