Learn How to Propagate Plants

Learn how to propagate plants by volunteering at the Markham Nature Park and Arboretum Garden Center. Workdays are every Tuesday mornings from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Other days may be available if arranged through our propagation coordinator, Dianne Martinelli, 925-681-2968.

Markham volunteers demonstrate how to grow plants from seed and cuttings. A wide variety of vegetables, perennials, shrubs and trees are grown to raise money for the Markham Regional Arboretum Society.

Plants are also grown for the International Garden and other programs. Men and women of all ages are welcome.

Special Classes

From time to time, special classes are offered to the general public. In the past, MRAS has offered classes about growing plants from seed, butterfly gardening, California Natives, and creating a xeriscape (or gardening with very little water.)
